Approximate build time 8 weeks
Currently located on a property in the Swan Valley available for potential clients to book a viewing this was the first of the Tinee Homes designed tiny homes to be produced. Our tiny homes aim to deliver a high-quality product at an affordable cost, with a focus on using Australian made and sourced, sustainable and ecologically friendly materials. This build also incorporated many large windows and a vaulted ceiling to maximise space and take advantage of the external environment and light. A major design consideration in this build was to use more lightweight materials in a bid to keep the overall weight of the tiny home down. Most trailers have a carrying capacity of 4.2 tonne, so reducing weight is important for movement of the tiny home and installation.
Physical features:
- 6.5m long x 2.5m wide
- Weathertex reconstituted timber and matter Colorbond Trimdek cladding externally
- External cladding has a BAL (bushfire attack level) rating of 9.5 which is important when building in rural and bush areas as different locations and regions have different BLA requirements on builds
- VJ timber panelling internally
- Composite castellated ceiling panels which are made of 85% recycled plastic to provide a more sustainable and ecologically friendly material choice
- Bathroom uses large format floor tiles and wet wall panels on the walls that provide a easy alternative to tiles which reduced overall weight and grout lines which make transport easier
- Kitchen uses Laminex cabinetry with Corian bench tops which is a hard wearing, affordable acrylic polymer benchtop which is a good looking and lighter alternative to stone and porcelain benchtops
- An on-grid model with 15amp plug in power, identical to that of a caravan, which powers the lighting, AC and instantaneous gas hot water unit
- Standard plumbing input that can be connected to mains water when on-site
- Waste and greywater set up to be connected to mains sewer or a septic tank
